Sportswear as a fashion trend has evolved in our active lifestyles and encompasses many sports. The masculine influence is still obvious in ladies’ golf wear.

Marilyn Golf and Active Wear has ventured to return to femininity with the embodiment of casual chic with our bold take on ladies’ golf and active wear.

Our stylish ranges are both contemporary and elegant. Our brand specialises in ready-made golf and active wear, as well as, bespoke ranges for the individual customer and ladies’ sports leagues.

Our collections are designed by various local designers and we purchase small quantities of our stunning materials to maintain exclusivity.

We are passionate about making ladies look gorgeous on the golf course whilst simultaneously supporting the South African industry! Our quest is to create a world-class South African product.

We have endeavoured, with the help of our designers, to create a truly custom-made boutique look that is not only comfortable and sporty, but feminine and fashionable.

While all the items comply with golfing rules, these items can be worn on and off the course.

Our materials have been carefully selected for comfort in both movement and outdoor activity, whilst maintaining a stylish sophistication. We have chosen moisture-management materials and are constantly looking for new fabric technology for sportswear, so our clients are not only trendy on the green but are also able to reach their optimum performance.

With our eyes always looking to the future, we are on a quest to design gorgeous and practical athleisure wear for up-and-coming sports, like padel, cross-fit and gym wear.

A Letter From Marilyn

Welcome to Marilyn Golf and Active Wear – a passion project born from a desire to offer women a range of sophisticated lifestyle pieces that not only make you look amazing but also perform under pressure – whether you’re on the golf course, travelling or just doing life.

What started as a side hustle in 2013 has grown into a thriving business. Thanks to our loyal fans, we have been able to build an enterprise that provides our seamstresses with full-time employment, doing work they love in a safe and happy environment.

Many of these talented women joined us in COVID-19 when they lost their manufacturing jobs. Before that, we had outsourced most of our production. COVID was the catalyst that made us realise that we could make a difference by starting an in-house manufacturing venture that could provide employment and training opportunities.

The results have been amazing. Having seamstresses and cutters on-site means closer cooperation between sales teams, designers, and fabric buyers, resulting in a sense of ownership and pride in each and every piece we make.

It also means that we can work together to minimise our impact on the environment. We create funky aprons with our offcuts, and we have recently begun making dog pillows from leftover fabric scraps, which we donate to our local SPCA. These pillows are filled with even smaller offcuts, ensuring that we maximise the use of our materials because beauty is also about protecting our planet and using resources wisely.
